2003 7.3 superduty crew cab. while driving my engine suddenly goes back to idle then after a few seconds it will pick back up and go. Or at least it would, today i came to a complete stop, and engine would not rev up at all. After sitting for approximatly 30 mins i now have acceleration. i should also say I have put another accelerator pedal on it (used). My pedal is adjustable. is there anything else i should be looking at?
There is a Key On Engine Running switch test (two tests below the one checked in the screenshot below) you can run on the Forscan app on your phone, and an OBDII dongle. It will help you verify your pedal assembly is working or not. Read your codes with this app as well to see if there are any related to this issue.
Your description does seem to point to an intermittent IVS on the pedal assembly. I think the IVS and accelerator pedal position sensor are one unit on the '02-'03 trucks.
Did this issue happen with both the original pedal assembly and this used one?
