ive had chevys all my life but after all the roubles i had in the 6000 miles of my new chevy, i went across the street and bought a 2003 f-250 sd , i should have done this a long time ago !
i do have a question though...........my truck did not come with the factory driving lights but ford has a complete "kit" , does that mean the wiring is under the dash or does that mean ill have to wire everything myself?
after going over every millimeter of the truck, the only thing that i found strange was the driveshafts are not painted and already rusty, but thats nothing a little paint wont cure ! great website !!!!!!!!!
Firecat: Welcome to FTE, you have made the right choice coming over to Ford and to this site. I cant help you with the driving lights , but someone will be along shortly to help. As far as the driveshaft rusting, we all have that problem. Its common with all vehicles I would think.
Welcome to the FTE. Ford does offer a Day time running lights package, I assume the dealer could put it in for some $$$.
For a more exact answer, again, someone is bound to be around to answer your question
Welcome and try the search function. I did when I joined and found lots of good stuff on the DRL's. Great links too. I happen to have a "for canada" built truck so it came with DRL's and I am trying to selectively turn them off when I go on military bases and onto ferrys... They all want your headlights off. Tough to do when they are permanently on all the time. But the info is there (with great pictures too). Easy fix to install DRL's yourself with basic tools and the links on this website.

Some of the wiring is there but you'll have to do most of it. There are not wires that run to the actual lights. The switch harness may not have the extra wire either. Keep in mind that if you want to the "factory look" and operation you'll have to get a new light switch or mod your currrent one.
The factory lights are not all that great compared to what is available in the aftermarket for less $$. Some even look they were meant to be there. I say look to the aftermarket. But that's just me.
Welcome to the board Firecat... Just a word about the diablo chip... Great produck.. But be aware that you should really splurge on some guages to monitor your powerplant while your cranking out more ponies.. something you probably already know... but it's a big investment in your new ride and would hate to see your meltdown pic's after some hard towing. Althought that would be cool to see
I've been surfin' this website quite a while now and find that members and visitors can be very helpfull with problem or projects or just a motivation lift. Great crowd and great site
It would be wise to have a water temp and oil pressure guage to go along with your new tuner or chip... However not necessary.. Hopefully one of the Gas guy's could better sun this up for you as I'm more tuned to advise on my PSD.
