Is there any way I can track how my truck is being built. The dealer has a confirmation number and the status is "sent to factory" or something like that.
ok, so I didn't get any answers in tracking the process. I guess ford hasn't moved into the 21st century yet. My dad bought a BMW a couple of months back and he was able to track it right from day one.
Anyway, the dealer says the truck was scheduled for build the week of 10/13 and for delivery the week of 10/27. I didn't order it from them until 9/30 and I saw an order submission dated 10/2. Is it possible to get an '04 so fast? I'm a little skeptcal that the dealer is showing me another truck's VIN just to shut me up. The three previous trucks my dad and I bought took 18 weeks, 6 weeks and 11 weeks to get.
I was driving it before thanksgiving ('02, that is )
You picked a good time to order. My dealer told me that at the beginning of a model year, they come thru quicker because the assembly lines haven't started building all of the dealer alottments yet.
Of course, I live less than an hour from Louisville, KY plant, so that may have helped.
Tracking???? I asked the same thing....was told , well, "No".
AS I live so close to Louisville, I also asked if I could go watch mine being built...... STRIKE TWO.
In case anyone cares it seems the dates I orignally was told are somewhat reasonable. As of today (10/21) the truck is supposedly built, the print out says "complete 10/19/03" and is scheduled for delivery on 10/28. My last truck took two weeks to get here from the factory after it was confirmed built. The dealer gave me a VIN that seems to work in the decoder, as long as the last 6 digits match the truck when it gets here.
Did you guys order manuals or something else special. I had to order the truck to get the 6 speed.
