Lightning Vs Wrx Subaru
I have a 2001 Lightning with a few mods: Superchips, K&N FIPK, and Silver Bullet exhaust. My friend said that his WRX will dust me out. I'm hesitating to take him up on it for a 1/4 mile test. I don't want to damage my truck for nothing. Is there any advise if I should show this guy what a lihgtning can do? or it's not worth it to try resulting some damage to my truck. This guy is a really show off. Do you have any report that WRX has the pull?

i took on a wrx with my cobra(03) we were door to door for about the first 1/8 mile. i thought he would take me off the line with the all wheel drive but it didn't happen. i had him by about two car lengths at the 1/4 mile. this was at about two am on a empty street so the distances are aproxamate. i traded an 01 L for this cobra. it'll be real close depends on the driver. just remember it's still a truck. i would try him from about a 20 mph roll. get your passenger side next to his window if you can!

My buddies 2002 WRX Wagon ran a 14.7 right off the showroom floor. A $600 chip and 1 cat removed and he was running solid 13.9 quarters. If his car is stock you should be able to make him look like a fool. If he has spent over $1000 in upgrades he might take you. If you aren't running mid 13s or better then you need to learn how to launch (no offense intended, I'm still working on mine) becasue your truck is capable. The WRX could destroy a lightning for the first 60 feet if it weren't for the traction control. If you launch too hard the traction control kicks in and its game over. His best 60 foot time is 1.9.

Like bassdude said, It all depends on the driver....Obviously it can be done according to them but will be close, traction seems to be the WRX's plus and power is yours, control your power off the line and his traction won't mean much when your motor screaming after you get rolling....If he does win, tell him you have a bigger johhny I guess, that usually works on chics better anyways.......

Thanks for the reply...I'm happy to announce that my 01 L strucked like a lightning and the WRX with Mods was no where to be found. It was amazing..we were both on a stop light and when that green light hit..it was all over. When I stepped on my pedal it was like a rocket and it sounded like a rocket when that supercharged kicked in and with my K&N FIPK kit combined it was a a woooooozzzzzzzz sound and it took off. And since we were under the bridge and the sound of my silver bullet exhaust growled it was frightning experience. I felt my hair on my skin stood up like when your in a haunted house. I'm still shook up of what happened..this is the first time I did this.....for all those Lightning owners....this truck is unbelievable....now I feel I can take anyone on the road. I don't care whether they a sports car, stock trucks or those expensive sports car like porsche, lexus, corvettes. I think I could beat them specially when I install my long pipe hedders and a new pulley.....King of the Road..

Just make fun of his small ***** for buying a Subaru, that will distract him and he will miss a shift. You then can dust him!

That's funny....Oh my next challenge now is the new Dodge Hemi. A friend of mine claims he will eat my lightning anytime. I will wait when my other mods put in then I'll give him a struck of my lightning......do you know anything about this new Dodge Hemi?......
