No Spark

1977 F150 460. I'm a rookie and I'm baffled. I got everything working fine, but decided to tighten up the alternator cable. Then crazily now I have no spark. I can't imagine they are connected. I replaced the coil, distributor cap, rotator, and plugs. I have voltage (12 volts) at the coil connectors but I'm not sure how to check voltage coming out of the coil or how to make sure it is working through the distributor. There is no spark at the plugs. Anyone have some ideas that I can start to track down my problem.

Probably your control module. you should always carry a spare anyway so if that's not it you didn't waste any money.

Did you tighten the connection at the alternator, or at the starter relay/solenoid?

He says he has 12v at the coil so that rules out many possibilities.

Yeah, I was thinking that because I'm getting voltage at the coil then the inline fuse at the alternator is probably not the problem. Thanks to your guys advice, I went back to the controller and as I was checking it over both of the plugs that connect to it disintegrated in my hands. To try a test, I clipped off the starter wire plugs and re linked them together. Now when I start it, it won't stop turning over unless I unplug. The voltage continues to go to the wires while it is turning over, but not when I unplug. Because I don't know that that means, I'm going to go and buy a controller, and clean up both of the plug connections and see what happens.

Update. It was the control module. Unfortunately, because the plugs fell apart I needed to rebuild them. In the process I put the two wire plug together backward. This caused the car to get spark would would only stay "running' if the key was turned all the way to the start position. It was an easy fix, but I thought I'd circle back just in case someone else has the same issue in the future.

Thanks for the circle back around, nice to know how one problem will cause another and how to fit it.
