Long story..sorry in advance. First truck I ever bought was a newly painted 79 f150. 4 speed with 400M. Loved that truck as did all the older guys at the gas station when I would get gas lol...well someone was driving it and didn't realize it had overheated so that was it with the motor. About 7 years ago my uncle sold me a 76 that couldn't pass inspection. The frame was in good shape so decided to restore it. Tore it all down, cleaned the frame, painted it and put all new springs, hangers calipers...everything...in the meantime I bought a 79 daily driver...automatic with a 460. So last month we got a 33ft camper so I need something to pull it. My daily driver needed a bed replacement so when I pulled the bed off the frame was found in bad shape. So it was time to finish the project. Here is where she sits as of today...got the motor in and all the springs and shocks installed. Going to put the cab on Monday and start the body work for paint. Waiting on my L & L headers and some bed panels from LMC. Its been a slow project. Little nuances here and there like motor mounts in wrong position, shock towers different etc but we are slowly getting there.
Nice project ya got going there I sure don't miss the rust from the mid-west, I've been spoiled with my rust-free trucks here in Kalifornia compared to Missouri where I grew up.
Slow and steady and you'll get it done, just like how you eat an elephant, one bite at a time.
Not much done today but did get the cab on. Tomorrow hope to get the wiring hooked up and start tearing out the inside of the cab so I can paint the interior
Got the cab ripped out today. Definitely need to replace floor on both sides. Just one thing after another lol...but eventually the things to do will eventually run out at least that's what I'm telling myself
