I have a 73 F100. It has a 390 with a 3 speed. When I bought it someone had changed it from a column shifter to a cheap butchered floor shifter. I am looking for the correct shifting linkage rods to change it back over. I may possibly need a steering column also, not sure yet, but the linkage for sure. It is 2 WD and power steering. If anyone can give me any info it would be deeply appreciated
I have a '78 with the EXACT same mess.
Some yoyo bolted this stupid floor shifter on the side of the tranny. My truck has a automatic column shifter right now. SO.... I have to change over the column and everything to straighten this mess out.
Luckily I have a parts truck that was a column shift "3 on the tree".
Do you have the original column shifter?
Most times these shade tree mechanics will just knock out the pin and take the shift handle off.
I would say your best bet to find the shift rods would be to go to a "pick and pull" junk yard.
