SYNC not working

So, I went to my local Ford store and talked the service person. I told her my SYNC didn't respond to anything. I noticed my phone no longer linked up to my radio. She told me to go to SYNCmyride.com. I downloaded the file as instructed and loaded it on my flash drive as instructed. When I inserted it into my radio nothing happened. I pulled the fuse for the radio reinserted the flash drive and nada... I've seen this numerous times on the internet and nobody seems to get any resolution. Just go into the service department and pay them to do a fix. Ford really should cover the problem for free and help us out. Does anyone have a suggestion?? Thanks in advance. SC

I see you have posted over in "1999 to 2016 Super Duty". You might want to post in "Audio & Video Systems, Navigation, Satellite Radio & Mobile Electronics" as well.
