Adjustable Track Bar vs Bracket and Pitman Arm Angles?
I want to center my front axle after installing a two inch spacer level.
I have read on several other threads that the bracket will change the angle relationship to the pitman arm and the adjustable bar won't. No one gives an explanation to these statements though. I don't understand how they would be different in that regard.
Can anyone educate me?
I just bought a BDS track bar braket and dual steering stabilizer, but want to better understand this before I install. I am not opposed to buying an adjustable bar instead. I just thought I was going with the simplest solution to achieve the same goal of centering the axel. Saving some cash is always a good thing.
The truck drives great currently. I had some bump steer prior to adding 2.3 degree caster shims.
An adjustable track bar is absolutely the way to go. It's a one stop deal. I have the Lewis Built. I know Carli makes one too; can't speak to it first hand. You will need an alignment after install. You'll see why.
I went with the Readylift drop bracket to keep the track bar as close to parallel as possible with the steering components. Parallel is what you should shoot for. Not sure how much different the adjustable track bar would be in reference to being parallel to the steering. Guess it would depend on how high you went with the level or lift. I just have a 2" level.
