truck is a 99 superduty crew cab. Recently picked it up and the passanger side rear window won't go up or down. Figured it was a burned out motor and left it be.
Took the truck on a camping trip and parked it on a side hill, and the back window decided to operate from the drivers control but would only go up and not down from the passanger rear door controls. Took the the rear passenger door panel off and checked all the wires and the wires in the door jam and all were OK. Switched the controls from the other door and still no change. Went to the drivers door and while I was playing with the wires the window quit working all together again. Not sure where to start on fixing it.
Maybe a bad button. Plug the harness to one of the other window buttons on the driver control. You could have a bad window switch or a bad connection if it keeps happening look at the harness. If it works fine it’s the button .
Drivers door loom where it goes in rubber boot between door and pillar. Very carefully slide the boot into the pillar to expose that big bundle of wires. Remove tape if there to get as much slack as possible. Inspect all the wires for a broken or almost broken one.
Its a patience requiring job. Not much room. Inspect all wires. You may find more that one damaged.
I think you are looking for a yellow one far in the back of the bundle. Not absolutely sure but betting a dollar you find your trouble there.
