Looking to install a brake controller in my 2020 stx f250 in the factory location. My question is, will this part number work? HC3Z-2C006-AA.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
If you order online from Fairway Ford in Ohio, they will tell you if its the correct part, and give you a great price. Then you will need somebody with ForsScan to enable it in the module. Dealers can enable it for a fee, or you can enable it yourself by installing the ForScan program and connecting your laptop to the vehicle with a special OBD port cable.
There are quite a few threads on this topic, and a sticky.
Thanks, i have reached out to them and am still waiting on the response.
When you place the order, there will be a pop up that requests your VIN (optional) and verifies that the part you are ordering will fit your particular vehicle. Pretty cool! If the part is incorrect, you get an instant notification that it will not fit. I have never seen this anywhere else but Fairway Ford.
No need to wait for a response. Just start the order process and you will be guided to the correct part!
I did it on my Raptor. You have to damn near disassemble the dash to get to the little cubbyhole, but it’s a simple plug and play when you get there.
Like the others said, get ForScan to make the changes. On the F150, there are 2 pieces of code that need to be modified. I’m not sure if it’s the same for the Super Duty.

Should be a 10 min job for the OP because he has no center console to contend with.

Its really not that difficult. I was able to remove and replace the parts by giving the air vent portion a good yank. At first I was afraid the plastic was going to snap as I was not being nice to it, and I had not removed any other dash or console parts, but I was able to pull on it just enough to remove the tray and insert the TBC without breaking anything. Was a 5 min job.
so you don't have to remove the center piece around the screen?
Well, on second thought maybe I loosened the screen panel at the top to allow the vent panel to pop loose, but I certainly didn't remove any panel entirely. And I do have the sport model with center console. All those dash parts seem to tuck in behind the console and I wasn't about to take the entire dash and console apart to get this job done if I absolutely didn't have to. So I pretty much just pulled and twisted until there was just enough room to squeeze the TBC in and get my fingers in there to make the connection. One minute later I popped the panels back in place and then popped open a beer!
Those plastic panels are much tougher than I thought they would be. And they weren't real warm when I did it either. I initially thought the plastic might crack because it was only about 50 degrees out there, but nope, no damage at all. I would imagine that if the interior temp of the truck was 80 or better, the panels would bend even more easily.
