Engine/tranny

So I was wondering if you guys can help me out because I’m stumped and can’t find any threads related to this so here it goes. After about 1000 miles on my rebuilt 351w I had a pretty nasty vibration in the high rpm any gear even in park. So I figured it’s probably the balancer so I checked it out and it seemed to have a very small wobble nothing crazy, it was aligned correctly at tdc. Couple hundred miles later my overdrive canceled switch shift ***. Btw it’s an automatic. The overdrive switch light and button are not working at all. So I searched and couldn’t find where to start looking if it was a sensor or the transmission itself. I did however get a code for a speed sensor then didn’t see the code again. Now couple hundred miles later the vibration is slowing going away. Now at 30 miles to about 40 I get this stretching noise or whine only in the 30 to 40 so I thought mabe it’s the torque converter. It was hot as hell when I touched it burned my hand and everhere els is cooler. So what do you guys think is going on. What should I check. It’s not being driven till I figure out what’s wrong. How do you test the converter ands Iv noticed the truck is low on power. Long thread but I want to be detailed as possible. Thanks guys

When you rebuilt it, what did you used for a flexplate?

Sounds like it needs to come apart. Sometimes the OD button wiring goes bad in the shifter or column, but the safer bet is that this is all related and not in a good way.

Any glitter in the oil?

Is the balancer straight now or still a wobbler?

it’s hard to tell if there is a wobble now. However seems to be a very slight wobble on the converter, when I was aligning up the motor to the tranny it sometimes would push the converter lop side for a min but I didn’t think much of it. I didn’t see any glitter last oil change and I’m think dropping the trans pan and see if any thing goin on there but it’s bright red and doesn’t smell burnt. Thanks for your reply

I think you have converter troubles. Maybe big ones.
