I have a 2000 7.3 2x4 wrecker. It has an imminent loss of something. It will start cold but then stall. It will do this three times before it will sit there and idle every morning. Ok when it’s warm on this issue. It will stall when stopped at a light and go to take off. Also driving down the road it has a quick loss of something like you turned the key off and on really fast. It goes out and comes right back. I’ve changed the driver side injectors, and valve cover gaskets, IDM, IPR, ford Motorcraft CPS, clean oil full. I just put the new CPS in and it’s still doing it.
Yes motorcraft blue CPS. Also the IPR nut is on. I have changed the complete fuel Assembly in the tank 6 months ago. I unhooked the batteries last night and it’s not doing it now. But now it revs when changing from drive to neutral or park.
Ok so I have been dealing with this far too long. I’ve changed the CPS with motorcraft, IPR with motorcraft, icp sensor, Complete fuel petal assembly, changed the complete fuel assembly in the tank, did a buzz test on injectors. Now the list of what it’s doing... stalls as soon as it starts every morning. Two or three times. Give it a little throttle and then she runs. It could run all day no issue or it could go 5 miles and it will start running rough, won’t take fuel, sounds like it’s starving for fuel. Pull over shut it off, sometimes it resets sometimes it won’t. Also when it rains my low fuel light comes on and the oil pressure light comes on then goes off. Really need some help.
By the way I’m in Salisbury NC
Wow that's a lot of stuff going on. Time to pull codes. If you don't have a scan tool already, FORSCan and one of the dongles listed on their website is recommended. I personally like the
Well this seems like the least of your problems but as far as when it rains and your dash lights come on... I had the same problem, turned out it was a rust hole in the roof. Our trucks are notorious for leaking.
Some grinder work, 5200 and or Bondo makes short work of it!
