Yes it’s a $10,000 snap on scanner I just bought a couple weeks ago. And yes it works on other trucks also. Just won’t connect to this one. I did get it to connect over the weekend. It took about 10 times and I did a buzz test on the injectors but now it won’t connect again.
I’ve ordered a set of gauges to put in this truck cause I’m thinking fuel pressure but no way to tell going down the road under a load. They should be here tomorrow and I’ll get them mounted in. I have another Bosch lift pump for the frame but don’t want to change it if it’s not the issue.
Ok so I have been dealing with this far too long. I’ve changed the CPS with motorcraft, IPR with motorcraft, icp sensor, Complete fuel petal assembly, changed the complete fuel assembly in the tank, did a buzz test on injectors. Now the list of what it’s doing... stalls as soon as it starts every morning. Two or three times. Give it a little throttle and then she runs. It could run all day no issue or it could go 5 miles and it will start running rough, won’t take fuel, sounds like it’s starving for fuel. Pull over shut it off, sometimes it resets sometimes it won’t. Also when it rains my low fuel light comes on and the oil pressure light comes on then goes off. Really need some help.
By the way I’m in Salisbury NC
The windshields on our trucks are notorious for leaking and getting into the pcm, might want to pull the pcm and inspect. maybe that's why the 10,000 scanner wont connect. just a thought

He’ll need power to the lower cig lighter/power port. That fuse also powers the OBD2 port.
