Excursions and super duty’s have similar wiring. Ford provided the option of adding upfitter switches into the cab. These switches terminated at those 4 loose cables you see allowing for easy add on electricals

I have no idea what that means. Is that for BOTH sets?
The set of 4 wires are the customer convenience pass-through wiring. They are there to give you easy access through the firewall for any add on options, the other end of them is under the dash just waiting for you to find a use for them.
[QUOTE=Gegendrauss;19425779]So I was out under the hood of my X and noticed some weird wiring. Can anyone tell me what these 2 sets of wires are for or where they should lead?
The ones you're pointing to are possibly for the under hood light. The holes in the tail gate are just drain holes.

So does that mean I could use those to hook up some after market fog lights?

Thats exactly the sort of thing they are intended for. With those wires you don't have to find a path through the firewall to run the switched control wires to a relay for something like fog lights. Pretty handy to have them there and one of Fords better ideas.
