I have a 2016 F250 6.7L diesel with 70,000 miles on it. the other day all of the warning lights and bells went off in sequence, and then all of the gauges quit working as I was driving the truck. The truck continued to drive fine down the road, but again, the gauges had quit working after all of the warning lights went off. after about ten minutes or so, all of the gauges came back on and the truck continued to drive fine. I took it to the dealership to have it looked at, as this has happened several times before my appointment date. As I drove into the service entrance, the truck died and I could not get it restarted. The dealership pushed it into the bay and I left in a rental car. This was Thursday. I called the dealership this morning, and they still have no idea as to what caused the issues, but they did get the truck restarted, which they say it has been doing since they got it restarted on Friday. Has anyone else out there had this issues as well, and if so, what was the cause, because I'm not feeling the reassurance from the dealer. Thanks!
I'd be willing to bet that it is the wire harness & connector attached to the parking brake bracket in the driver's side footwell. The "shock" from releasing the parking brake jars it to where the connection gets spotty. If you disconnect and re-connect that big harness and unclip it from the parking brake bracket, that should keep it from happening again.
Many have had the same problem, myself included. You get the Service AdvanceTrac and Hill Descent Control Fault warnings at times, the dash, HVAC and radio go dead at others and if you shut the truck off while it does this, it will not restart....no crank, no start, nothing.
