B & O AUDIO SYSTEM

I have a "B&O Premium" audio system in my 2018 F150 Lariat according to the window sticker and a "B&O audio system" in my 2020 F150 Platinum. The word Premium is missing. So the 2020, even when cranked up to volume level 29 is not nearly as loud as the 2018. I would have expected higher quality after upgrading to a Platinum model.

SO do I have a defective unit or have they downgraded the volume capability or are these really two different products and I now have a lesser quality unit???

I just had the same issue. Traded an 18 Platinum for an 2020 Raptor and I had to crank the volume past 25 to hear it. Checked the Amp/Sub behind the seat and it was not working. Dealer replaced the Amp/sub unit and it corrected my issue. Several others have reported the same issue. Most have been a bad batch of Amp/sub units.

Good luck with your truck!

sounds like the problem! Thanks. Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if there are different models of the B+O in 2020, premium or non-premium as indicated on the window stickers of different years or are they all the same animal?

B&O systems should all be the same. They will all have the Amp/Sub unit behind the rear seat.

You do know that the sound system in a Lariat is the same as a Platinum and you shouldn’t compare a 2018 to a 2020 because the actual processing in the amp might be different.

I can see the amp being replaced but why was the sub itself replaced.

The amp and sub are two different pieces.

Not sure they just installed a new Amp & Sub and it corrected my issue. I think the issue was in the AMP (possibly not turned on).

I had a 16 XLT that I added the Kicker AMP/Sub combo and the dealer had to turn on the Amp in their system. That unit sounded almost as good as the Sony & B&O systems.

Has anyone had this software reprogramming done and did it correct the radio low volume issue or did the dealer have to start exchanging physical parts? https://ford.oemdtc.com/6390/bang-an...020-ford-f-150
