Does anyone know where I might be able to find diagrams on a inline-6?Like an exploded view with all the parts, lines, wires and stuff like that? Thanks.
I found an emissions book in the reference section of the library back in 96 when I was working on my 81 Bronco with all the multicolored vacuam tubes. As I remember it helped out a lot.
I was just reading that one too. I think it's 145 Hp for Cal models and 150 for the rest.
I was surprised to see the Hp is less than the 302. The Torque is a lot less than the 302, yet if you go drive one truck with each engine, the 302 is a high revving lizzard compared to the 300 I-6.
My Six's in Alaska got 13 Mpg and the 302 is similar. I have a friend with a 302/5speed that get's near 18 though, so it varies with the driver, the load, the weather, the gearbox's etc etc.
I have an 88/7.3 Diesel and a 77/460. The book gives the 460 more HP and Torque than my Diesel, but I know different. From experience.
I never measure my torque from the engine.. Always measure it from the wheels.. got a stock T-18 Borg Tranny with a 4 wheel drive unit... Put it like this.. stock drive line set up... T-18 in Granny 7.32 gear ratio... with a 4 low gearing of 2.72 combined with a 3.55 rear and front end gearing.. I bring the front end up off the ground if I handle my clutch just right...lol... I got a mini big foot on wheels when it's runnin lol.. puttin a motor craft 2bbl on it from teh stock 1bbl.. see if I can get her a bit higher off the ground... lol Its in an F-150 by the way.
