6.0 Bulletproofing

I’m thinking about buy a 6.0 and all I’m hearing is talk about Bulletproofing. Are these engines really that bad that they will not run on their own with careful maintenance?

From what I've read, these engines had a lot of problems from the day they were new. Didn't have a lot to do with Maintenance. Some of the later issues did though. BUT you can make anything dependable with enough money and good parts(which is getting harder to find). For the record I am not a diesel guy. But I worked at a diesel shop and most people said to stay away from them.

Are you getting a real good deal on it? Ever wonder why?

The reason you hear so much talk about "Bulletproofing", is because that is the well versed and standard procedure to take care of ALL the problems the 6.0 have.

To answer your second question, YES.

Ask these guys in the 6.0 diesel forum. And get a real world user opinion. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum107/

You can find tons of opinions on BOTH sides of the fence.
