I have a 2002 Super Duty and when I turn the truck off and key is pulled out, the radio stays on. Opening and closing the driver door does not shut the radio off. However, opening any of the other 3 doors will cause the radio to turn off. Sometimes hitting the unlock/lock button over and over the radio will turn off but this doesn’t work every time. Also, another issue is that when I turn the truck off with my head lights still on and the radio stays on it will not “ding ding ding” alert for leaving the head lights on. But when the radio finally turns off it will alert me for having the head lights on. When the radio stays on I do not have power to the wind shield wipers. Finally, sometimes when I start the truck the radio will not turn on. I have to turn the truck off and on and the radio will turn on eventually.
Am at the point where I will start replacing any part that could be related to this issue. Any advice will be very welcomed.
My truck did the same thing... windshield leak ruined the GEM module and caused all sorts of havok.
That was 10 years ago and I hear rumors you can't get them from Ford any more...
Hoping it's just a door switch.

He has an '02. It doesn't have a GEM.
As far as the door switch what part number is that?
Don't know. It's most likely part of the latch. Since you haven't done any troubleshooting, it's probably premature to be looking to replace it. Usually, they get gummed up and stick due to the grease hardening. A high colonic with WD40 usually frees them up.
Ive read about spraying the latch and I've tried that a few times. I just ordered a door jamb relay motorcraft part number sw5429b. What about a relay in the box with the fuses? Anything that could be the culrpit in there? I really just want to start swapping out parts and get it fixed.
Well the relay I ordered must before for the passenger side because the tab was on the wrong side. I took my existing one and soaked it in wd40 working back and forth and it was moving freely. After putting everything back together the radio still stays on. What else could it be????
