You can't wait until your next fuel fill up, so you can add your first bottle of Opti-Lube.
I took a survey here (on fuel lubricant) about two months ago and was convinced to use Opti-Lube brand. I finally got my first batch of "XL" treatment, but now my tank is 3/4 full (and I have the Ford brand in it). I'm so excited, lol.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you won’t see any difference. The benefit comes from protection of the HPFP. Using the summer blend, I do seem to get about 0.3 mpg better, but it runs the same. I am also hoping that if it’s a tad more efficient, maybe it’s generating less soot and less crap in the EGR, but that’s wishful thinking perhaps. FWIW, I’ve used a lot of additives and Optilube is the only one that I think made a (slight) measurable improvement in anything. That includes Enerburn, which might be the most overhyped fluid I’ve ever poured in a tank.
If you want a lubricant run B20 Bio Diesel or even better is R100 Renewable Diesel. The R100 is slightly hard to get currently but its a great lubricant and 75 cetane plus very little soot. Been using it since 2011 in our large fleet at work and my personal trucks. No HPFP problems and no more HEUI injector issues in the CAT Acerts.
I’ll finish the headline: ... you don’t know the difference between your and you’re.
Opti-Lube XL doesn’t do anything other than prevent a CP4 explosion. It’s not very exciting. I use it every fill and it’s not that fun. But, we all have different pleasures.

its true......one in every bunch, I'll try to be better teacher but its part of being a red neck..........git r dun................lmao
I started using XL and Summer blend in my 19. With a Dually I really don’t calculate mileage, to subjective and....... it’s a Dually. Lol. I really can tell a difference in Idle with the additives. It was already quiet but it’s super super quiet and happy using both. We have good cetane here in CA so I use the minimum dose of both together.

Hopefully you realized that was just a little joke based on the Foxworthy-ish leading title of your thread. I'm not on here running around and correcting people's grammar because, well, that would be like sweeping a dirt floor.
Have fun with your additives ... or you're additives ... or yore additives. Optilube is great stuff.
No fuel treatment will provide much of a seat of the pants feeling. It's more of a better to have and not need than need and not have. Ive been using fuel treatment in all of my diesel fill ups for 7 years in an attempt to preserve the fuel systems. I will say though, I did notice a slight increase of MPG when i started using Motorcraft fuel treatment in my current truck. Now granted that MPG increase is completely negated by the cost of the fuel treatment, but oh well i feel better at the end of the day knowing i may be helping haha.
I use Motorcraft PM-22, in part for the algaecide. My truck sits for weeks without getting started. I use the Better Diesel FBC to try and keep my DPF healthy and extend the time between regens.
