Hi guys,
Who has a new truck and is running LED Strobe Lights. Pictures or video would be great. I am trying to get an idea for size and placement - my original thinking is some in the grill and some hooked up to a possible headache rack (not yet purchased). So many decisions. My plan is a relatively simple couple up front, couple in the rear tied into the upfitter switches.
If I kept a truck longer than 2-3 years I might do something different. But not wanting to install then remove at trade time I just went with a Z Flash module.
But once upon a time a few trucks ago I bought some low cost amber strobes from Advance Auto that had several flashing patterns. Installed inside of the grille. Kept the flash pattern selector zip tied someplace under the hood. Cut off the power plug and wired to an upfitter and had the ability to power on and off from the cab.
I have the Ford factory strobes on my truck. I love them. That’s what we run at work also. I tried to upload a video but I’m not sure how to do it from an Apple iPhone.
I'm on a mobile app so linking isn't the easiest thing but check the build thread for my 2017 in my signature - I've done a full LED Warning light upfit on my truck, work lights too. Dash, grill, bumpers, rockers, headache rack, tail lights, etc. Happy to answer any specific questions or provide additional photo/video.
Here's a link to my YouTube channel which has several videos showing the setup on the truck
I just put LED strobes on my new F450. Can't figure out how to post the video. Send me a PM with your email and I can send you the video. We did four strobes in the front grill. Heres a screen shot.
I know I'm late to the party but maybe this will help future people out. Here is the setup on my truck. Everything was done in an effort to have the least permanent affect on the truck. For those curious the truck is my personal truck used to respond to the station for fire/rescue apparatus. All legal and recognized in my state. https://photos.app.goo.gl/YRc3KZugiwYqju2s5
