Vacuum Pump Cap?

Is there supposed to be a cap over the disc on the vacuum pump? I pulled out the oem air filter housing to swap for a 6637 and now this hole on the pump is just puffing into the engine bay.

Yeah typically there’s something there. Just replace it. Super cheap part and very easy to replace.
