Not exactly. If you post the Serial number I can give you an approximate build date.
f there is a stamping on the firewall/cowl it should have the assembly date. Again, if you post what you find we can decipher it for you.

Is there a way to find the build date of a 1950 F100 by using the Vin.?? Thanks in advance to all.
A 1950 would be an F1, not F100. Like mtflat said, there's no direct date information in the serial number. You would need to post what you have, along with the stamped numbers in the firewall, near the cowl seam, for us to give you any information.

Yes and no. A lot of products, including vehicles have serial numbers attached to them. In the late 1970's, standards were developed and agreed to by the world auto manufacturers to create the VIN, or Vehicle Identification Number, which included many unique details about the vehicle for better tracking and tracing. Today, the name is interchangeable.
Again, we can't read your serial number and answer your question if you don't post it in its entirety, along with the firewall stamping, as mtflat responded earlier. The various patent numbers printed on the patent plate will tell you nothing, unless you want to search the US Patent Office files for the numbers. The firewall stamp may look something like this...
The numbers you typed are the patent numbers for various assemblies Ford produced for your truck.
Your serial number is not technically a "VIN" but term is used interchangeably.
What you have should start with 98RC [1950 F1 V8] then followed by 6 digits [actual serial number]
The serial string (the six digits) is what determines when in 1950 the truck was assembled.
KC is the Kansas City Assembly plant
The firewall/cowl stamping usually contains the color, plant and date codes plus an assembly line code that we can't decipher.
My 48s firewall is stamped 7RH12L6025. Not all trucks have this stamping.
In case you're worried, no one has had a truck stolen from posting their serial number or assembly codes on the FTE site.
Oh and before I forget, that's a beautiful truck!!
The serial number people have been saying is not on the tag that has the numbers I supplied...the only other numbers are the vin. I "guess" now..this "serial" number is stamped into the firewall somewhere so I will look for that. Yes My Vin starts out with 98RC321103.NO other numbers
Yes My Vin starts out with 98RC321103.NO other numbers
That is your serial number. As I said before, the term VIN was not introduced until the late 70's. You can call it the VIN if you want, I'm just trying to clear up any confusion.
If you look on the firewall, typically toward the center/right as you look under the hood, you should find your production code hand stamped into the firewall metal. It's not on a tag. That will have the date code, among other things, you're wanting to know. Find and post that and we can help you further. They vary in placement, size and style depending on year and assembly plant. Here's another example.
it appears there is a firewall cover over the original so I cannot find any numbers. The firewall looks like new and I can see two layers of metal through non factory drilled holes. I'm going to look under the dash later today
