awww, now see that would be the main thing I would use it for
I got the Banks iDash and suction mount for at cost from the Banks Power website. No up charge or anything. They even installed it without me asking them too and didn't charge the $30-50 install fee (they do $30 to install floor mats according to the ford site...). Points covered it all and still have ~9k left that I won't have any use for

Ford does. I wasn't speaking hypothetically. Direct from Bushwacker for $180 or you can pay a 40% premium to buy it from Ford for $250. I suppose if your local parts department got down to Tasca-ish pricing, then it would work. Around here, it's 0-5% off, though.

Its my understanding that its part of the salesmans job to walk you through the setup process before leaving. It was the last step in my transaction.

I don't find the app to be exceptionally slow in my use (android phone), it loads up fast enough. The information is up to date as of the last time the truck was driven, so hitting the refresh button is necessary if some time has gone by. Remote start requires a press and hold, maybe 3 seconds, then another couple sec to actually start but it can be used from anywhere you have service, another state or possibly from another country. I dont see a reason to use it in close proximity if you have the fob nearby.

Some of the Ford sites that the app redirects to are screwy, but I find the same issues if I bypass the app and go direct to those sites.

The only purchase Ive made so far with points were mud flaps. I knew I was paying an extra $15 otd but thats a pretty small amount when using Fords money. I have now idea what Ill use the 57k on that I have left. If you use the dealer for service thats not a bad use for points.

I'm now sitting on 95,000 points 18 months after my purchase and still don't know what to spend them on. Everything the dealerships sell is so overpriced that I end up not buying on principle. For example, I considered getting some Bushwacker Trail Armor. These land around $160-$180 online. At the dealership, they cost $250. That just irritates me, even if it's $0 out of my pocket. Plus, it's just inconvenient. Can't spend online and I can't be bothered to drive to the dealership to use my points.
I agree, its ridiculous how much markup they have. But they gave me points, they expire in a year so I used mine for a console vault and one oil filter. I used all but 40 points.

I don't think they expire if there is account activity.
I got 72,000 when I bought my truck last June took it in for an oil change in September told them to use my points. no bill, a couple weeks later I had 75,000 points. took it back the last week of June this year with my wife's RN badge to get my free front line worker "the works oil change with full synthetic oil and tire rotation. checked my app today and i have 77,728 points.

you are correct, if there is account activity.
I do all my own maintenance & oil changes. So mine were gonna go after a year.

Define "account activity" please. I never heard of the expiration. It's been over a year for me this past April with no activity and my points are still there. Got the 20K points in July from the COVID deal.

They may have extended the expiration because of C19. I somewhat recall getting an email about it. Activity means either using points or adding points by way of service. I would think the 20k that you received in July is considered activity.

Just got off the phone with a FordPass representative. They say it takes 30 days for FordPass rewards to hit your account on a new vehicle - I had to call because I bought an F-150 two weeks ago that I traded in last night on a new F-250 (yes I'm taking a bath). Because the rewards process did not complete on the F150 prior to trading it in, they're having difficulty finding a way to award me those points. Nope nope nope. I did my part, I'm holding them to doing theirs

It sounds like they told you the high end of how long it might take. I just looked at my account, purchased last year on the evening of May 5th, received the points on the 21st. Others have received sooner.

On the other end of the spectrum, I purchased my truck on 4/2 and still don't have the points in my account. I have called the FordPass Rewards customer service number twice now, and the very nice reps have "escalated" my request twice. Still no points...

I just received my 75000 points yesterday. Ironic I had sent the sales guy an email the day prior and the next day I got an email from Ford.
Not sure if coincidence or not. I purchased the truck on March 15 2020.

I talked to Ford's reward rep a few hours ago and my problem was that they issued points to me too early and then they took them away, I now have them back. Points were issued on 5/12 and I picked the truck up on 5/13, so I guess someone jumped the gun, but I'm happy it's all fixed.

You used FordPass Points to purchase a Banks iDash? How did you do that?
