Just curious on your thoughts. Im new to diesel but I’ve been wanting one.
I have found a 2007 f250 6.0 lariat 4x4 in good shape other than sear wear and the heat/AC don’t work.
The guy is asking $7500 for it. It has 283k on it. He has had the egr deleted. New air pipes and boots. New alternator, ficm, up pipes, cam sensors, and ebp senosors.
he also has service records since he’s owned it where it has had oil and filter change every 3-5k and fuel filter ever 7-10K
just curious is this sounds like a good deal or not?

ive been reading a lot from that form and trying to learn. I guess I’m wanting to hear from some 6.0 owners if this sounds like a smart move. Obviously every engine from the 7.3 to the 6.7 has its quirks and it’s own set of problems.
my dad has a 2000 7.3 with 420k plus on it right now. It’s had zero problems and runs like a top. I’m just curious if a 6.0, with proper maintenance can reach that level.

Yes it can, there was a guy on here a week or 2 ago that just turned 400 with his 6.0. I'm at 270 and runs great.
No -- with that obscenely high mileage, odds are soon after you buy it you'll discover it needs major engine work .................long term engine effects of deleting that EGR aren't good either....................................expect $$$$$$ in costs later ------>>> $5K just for openers.

no doubt that could happen. My daily driver could also need major engine work next week. That’s always a possibility.
let me ask it this way, my current daily driver is a 2005 5.4 with 220k. Between that and this 2007 6.0 with 280k which one is more likely to get another 100k?
