17 3.5 ecoboost, 40k, truck runs around 227 average on the highway. In town 220 or so. High so far 234, on the highway. Curious what others are seeing. Ford says it’s fine to be that temp. Had a 16 that ran about 208-210, same with another 18.
2015 3.5 here and since I changed to the 180* thermostat the only time I see over 200* is just as the thermostat opens, unless I'm running it hard or towing. But seeing 225+ hasn't happened since the new thermostat .
I think these engines are designed to run hotter for emissions purposes - just my thinking, nothing to back it up. I didn't like it so cooler thermostat was my choice.
In changing the thermostat did the computer adjust ? Or did it need to be reprogrammed?

So my thermostat is a 190 and the truck runs 227 on the highway, and the fans run on high, a lot, seems odd that this is the proper cooling strategy lol.
