My neighbours said my alarm was going off twice in the middle of the night. I have a 2019 Platinum that I am now really worried bout leaving on my driveway. It fits in my man cave shop but I have to move my recliner’s! 😜.
I asked the ford dealer and they said not to worry as they are really hard to steal. Is that true? I have heard guys drive by with a decoder and then come back later and it is gone.
does anyone know how they actually work, is there security options available from the factory or are all the trucks the same?
My neighbors truck, my old, 2001 Platinum Edition, first one ever, got stolen the other night but it has no security system at all.
he did get it back as I guess it died in the middle of the road and the *******s left it for some reason! Luck him.

There are several threads in here already about this - that's what (I thought) helped me! My 2019 F-450 was doing the same thing randomly - if I double clicked (armed) the door locks, it would happen all the time. If I only just locked the doors with a single click as I was getting out, it would only do it once in a while. The threads were saying it's the inside sensor up on the dashboard near the windshield that senses a small moth or mosquito or something flying around during the night. They said to get into your settings and change your security to "Perimeter Only", so I did! I started arming the alarm again and it was fine for almost two months and then three days ago, I'm sitting here at the counter having morning coffee - the alarm goes off. Nobody outside, nothing near the truck, cloudy and a bit humid but not raining. Message on my FordPass App was "Your Truck's Security System has detected an unusual activity and triggered the alarm at 08:16AM" Unusual Activity? Hopefully, it has nothing to do with the old issue...
How funny! I had my alarm go off three times while camped at Cades Cove over the weekend. It was early morning on Sunday, about 4:00 AM when it first went off. I thought it was my neighbor. About 5 minutes later it went off again and my wife looked out the window of the camper and said it was our truck! I went out to look around and saw nothing, no evidence of wildlife anywhere. I went back to bed, about 5 minutes later it went again. At this point we decided to hook-up and check out a little earlier than originally planned. I felt sooo bad for my neighbors who were surely greatly bothered.
So today I decided to do a little forum searching on the subject and was reminded of the inside motion alarm. That brought to mind a giant moth I discovered sitting on my steering wheel when I entered the truck to hook up the camper...I believe I found the culprit!
Note to self, look for large insects before locking up for the night...especially in a crowded campground!
If you happened to be camped near us in Loop B of the Cades Cove Campground this past weekend, please accept my deepest apologies for the disturbance in the wee hours of Sunday morning!
