Security Mystery

My 2000XLT is in the body shop getting fixed and they called today and said they couldn't get it started because of the security system. He said that there was a factory security system, and an aftermarket one. Apparently the one with the keys I got when I bought it used is the aftermarket. Anyone have any ideas in disabling or overiding the factory system? I am stumped. Thanks

The only way that factory system wouldn't allow the truck to start is if you weren't using a PATS key. If you have the OEM keys and it won't start it must be the aftermarket alarm

Anyone know anything about what kinda signal it sends and what its looking for? Im curious about how it works. My dad was one of the engineers for the GM pass-key system so stuff like this interests me.
