Just got my notification there is an update effective IIRC on 6 July for a fresh map.
The instructions are at best horrible and at worst make little if any sense at all anyhow got it figure out.
Update free if your are eligible.
Update is about 16 Gigs after you extract it from a 11.5 Gig zipped file.
Best to download direct to a thumb drive of at least 18 Gigs and make sure its been erased.
The thumb drive will be plugged in to the truck in the USB slot and it says it takes about 3 hrs? If you have the diesel then you run into shut down issues, so maybe best to do when you are driving for a long time. I do not like to interrupt downloads!
If you have the 'Fast Idle' option then its not an issue..
Waiting on my thumb drive to load and then will do the install, well post results.
Jim, did you end up upgrading to Sync 3.4 when it came out back several months ago! I remember seeing your name in there several times during that whole thread but can't remember if you did it? I did and successfully and have been very happy with it. Just wondering now if this new Map Update is going to work with the new, still unreleased (that I know of) 3.4?
I’ve not yet upgraded to SYNC 3.4. I’ve resisted doing any unoffical software mods to the truck (including FORscan) while the truck is covered by its three-year warranty, which still has 13 months to run.

I might break down early...
Safe travels!

Awww, I've got the ForSCAN on my SurfacePro Laptop, I've got the Interface port and Cable, Instructions, Excel file but am scared to death to try it. The Sync thing was nothing to me - didn't bother me in the least. I didn't think that would even cause an issue with the dealership. As a matter of fact, they probably wouldn't even notice - I bought the truck from a Dealership in OH and live in MA, so could probably just pass it off as "Hey, that's the way it came guys! Why the hell would I want to change that at 70 years old?"
I updated my 2020 F350 yesterday it took about 45 minutes to up date and 2 and a half hours to download. I turned off the auto shut down to do the update. Since the truck was only three months old the update was free.
I installed the update. It took around an hour to download it and copy to a USB stick. Loading it into the truck system took about 35 minutes. USB starts the update automatically when you plug it in. Two things: make sure you copy your license into the Sync my ride folder, not just to the USB, and second, make sure you remove the USB stick right after it finishes downloading to the truck or it will start downloading again. It doesn’t seem to hurt anything but just a waste of duplication.
