First of all, I just want to say that I love the truck!
I do find the truck a little odd though, it looks to be original and it’s a custom cab but it doesn’t have the driver side door lock.
also I see no holes in the doors on the inside for cardboard door panels. Custom cabs with door panels do not have the metal door inspection covers that this has.
56 never came with a pass side arm rest regardless if it was a standard or custom cab.
Big window with a white top and it came with clear glass? Very odd
I’d love to see pics of this truck in its early years
I didn't want to chime in because I am a bit jealous somebody found a 56 with a big back window in such good condition. It mostly looks original, but some things did look a bit off to be original. Mostly the chrome and the interior paint and upholstery in general look much newer than the exterior of the truck. I never knew about the metal door inspection covers. Mine is a custom cab, always had a drivers side door lock, and never had the metal door inspection panels and the screw holes for them are untouched.
My only question was, is there a motor and trans in it? The front looks fairly tall to have a motor in it and the clutch pedal is laying on the floor.

The seat has been reupholstered.
And are those running boards black? For a 56 they should be body color.
Yeah, the running boards are black. You can see the running board panel below the bed side is still blue. Maybe somebody painted them black with them installed and that's how they masked the area. I could be completely wrong, I suspect it has had a repaint sometime it it's life. I realize the seat was reupholstered at some time. But, the interior paint and overall condition just seems so much better than the exterior.
Still an extremely nice truck. If I found something like that, I'd try to keep it as original as possible.
Not to steel the thread, but I've learned a few couple things about mine from it. I now know why mine with a custom cab never had any metal inspection covers on the doors, has a drivers door key, and (being in California) likely why it never had a heater. Thanks to those more experienced than I am with these trucks.
