I keep seeing all these posts about Jeep wrangler dealers getting trained to badmouth the bronco--- I personally do not think the bronco is a threat to Jeep as a whole-- a little healthy competition is a good thing.
From the video's I have seem in Moab I would agree that it is not a threat to the Wrangler. They had way too much body panel damage on trails they should not have to compete with the Jeep. Not sure what the spotters (the real drivers of the Bronco) were doing. Spotters job is to keep you from having body damage,
Rollie said the 2.7 had a lot of power and he ended up getting his F-150 with it instead of the 3.5 he went in looking for. As most buyers do not really do serious wheeling with a 4x4 I can see this as being a selling point for the Bronco. The Nissan Pro 4x had a lot of power and my friends in Denver really liked that power going over the passes on I-70. With even more power in the new Bronco I can see it replacing some of those. And even getting a bit of the Alfa Stelvio Quadrifoglio market. With a Raptor type package. For real off road Jeep seems to still have the edge and it seems Ford knows it so they are going more for street performance where they have a great advantage over Jeep on most all the other's. I really don't see many hard core wheelers switching from Jeep base on the wheeling vids I have seen. But I can see a number of the street driving Jeep folks switching and they make up a lot of Jeeps sales.
What we’re unsure of is what the new model will be called. Early reports say that it will be dubbed the Warthog. In one of the tweets, Ford states that they were testing some massive 37″ “hooves.” Both horses and warthogs have hooves. Are we reading too much into this?
SO the base model of the bronco and the base model of the wrangler is about the same price-- but I saw a news article about incentives being really hi to lower the price on the broncos. I suppose the wrangler will follow suit.
I think there are incentives an all vehicles right now because not many people are buying "NEW"-- My parent bought a New explorer and got nearly $12000 off- if they financed with Ford motor company--- - they financed for 6 months- with no early pay off penalty-- then went in and paid it off the following week-- Cost them $400 in fees and interest but saved 12k in the process.--- Deals and what not are insane right now.
