Damaged wire

My truck is an 02 7.3 6 speed XL 4x4.

Blower motor is clearly going bad. Read the article on how to replace it and pulled of the factory covering over the area. I found a damaged larger gauge wire that appears to be running along side the main battery cable to the starter. Yellow with a blue or green stripe. I ran out of daylight yesterday looking at this. It appears to be a fuseable linc ?
I bought my truck new so I know this has never been tampered with.
Trying to attach a picture. Appreciate any advice on replace /repair methods.I have a Chiltons and it doesn't seem to match the wiring schematic in the book.
Thanks

That wire goes down to the starter. If you disconnect it and short it to B+ the truck will crank over.

Looks like it has been rubbing on something or chewed on. That round connector comes apart and you can jump it to hot just like Chris said and it will engage the starter. My 02 truck has a protective cover that fits over that area and presses into 3 posts with push nuts, it's sort of a felt covered piece of molded cardboard that keeps the wiring and AC lines from rubbing on the hood.

I appreciate the response misterCMK and bigb56. My truck has the same cover that yours has, don't really know what caused that. Was surprised to find out how dirty it was underneath.
Does anybody know if that round connector is available anywhere? Trying to figure the best way to do a good repair or replacement of that wire.
Damage is close to the connector so might be tough to solder it.
I appreciate any ideas.
Thanks Joe

Yup, The YE/LB wire is the trigger to the starter. See attached wire diagram.
