steering column? Bought a 78 f100 2wd this weekend cheap. I used to own this truck about 3 years ago. Thinking about swapping what i can into the 66 swb. I read on here that disc brakes, will power steering swap? I understand steering column & brake petal will? Fuel tank? (i know filler neck is different) Will the 351 M & c6? I know 351m not thought of as the best, but it runs good & trans has been rebuilt. Will the radiator swap? My opinion of "swapping" is bolt in with minimal work using parts from one truck or the other. The left over body parts that are useable would go to a 78 f250 4x4 project i am planning. I really want a 78-79, but this one is not the best one to start with.
This doesn't answer your question exactly but you could bolt the 66 cab and front clip directly onto the 78 chassis. I have a 66 F100 that is going to be mounted onto my 78 f250 4x4. Just something to think about.

Thanks for any thoughts advice or experience
All of the parts will swap into your 66 including the motor. The tranny crossmember will need a couple of new holes drilled to relocate it. I also think you will need to use the bracket from the 66 column that is right under the dash. Just tac weld it to the 78 column.
