My boyfriend and I installed a KENWOOD head unit in our F350. We made sure to buy a direct replacement and followed all the directions they gave us. When we’re driving in the day you can’t see the head unit screen because of sun glare. I was hoping someone had some ideas on how to fix this issue.
There's nothing you can do except turn up the brightness. OEM systems typically have a thin polarizing sheet under the glass where an aftermarket unit will not. You can customize how it sits in th mount by adding spacers at the two top-most screws so that it tilts the screen down but that's about it.
Turning the brightness up might make it too bright when the sun is not glaring directly on the dashboard, so that's not a perfect work-around, either. Maybe look at some of the high end Alpine systems and see if they polarize the glass.
