My understanding is that in around 2013 the easy fuel filler was redesigned. Since mine seems to be causing some evap codes I'm problably looking to doing this sometime before winter. Does anybody know if the newer part is a drop in replacement for my 2011 f150? Is there a better option out there (such as one with a normal fuel cap)?
steve(ill) - why not clean the seal, replace the cap and see if the code goes away ?
By default there is no cap to the - Easy Fuel™ "no cap" Fuel Filler
Agree with cleaning and would also suggest the locking fuel tank plug ...

HOWEVER ... Reviewed a parts list PDF and noted that prior to 24Jul2012 the part # was CL3Z-9034-A (-Discontinued-)

OOOPS.... i thought he ment he had the OLD STYLE screw in cap and wanted to upgrade to the Cap Less type. ....... but Cleaning and make sure good seal is still the plan.
I cleaned and lubed with some spray silicone about 3k miles ago but have had the codes showing for a number of weeks again. Just cleaned 2 days ago and lube with silicone spray as well as clearing the codes so we will see how long it lasts but I'm not optimistic.

The silicone spray attracts and holds dirt. Try cleaning it with (say)

I try to steer clear of WD-40 in all things. I blow out the silicone spray with an air compressor. In other applications this has worked well by leaving a little silicone but removing any wetness that attracts grit.

Understand ... However, would recommend addressing the "...some evap codes" (e.g. DTC particulars) via diagnostics before throwing a (minimally) $200 part at, what is now, a unspecific problem.
