i keep getting this code po460 fuel tank lever sensor every 3 to about every month sometimes it wont delete unless i disconnet the battery or i wait a couple of hours and then i can delete it with my scanner dont know if i should drop the tank and replace the sending unit i have a 2007 ford f-250 superduty crewcab 6.0 diesel 4x4 thx
I have had the same code intermittently since 2011. It happens when the fuel gauge doesn't rise after sitting for a few days. Mine clears with my DashBoss app. Is it worth the time and effort to fix? At some point I will do it when I have time to spare. Not sure if there are any serious consequences from not getting it done. It's been this way for 9 years...
For sensor errors you can if you into adventures clean them. Both trucks I own have had the sensors cleaned and come back to
the world of the living.
You have to pull the sensor out of the tank and clean the resistor and wiper. I used rubbing alcohol on a Q-tip. Be very easy on the
wiper. If you use too much force and crack one of the spring legs your going to be looking for a new assembly.
