Good eye! I was in the basement. I have my two remaining Motorcraft bags in a box, some other oil and those filters down there. The P502503 is their filter for the 6.7 application. The seals line up.
Oil Filter Achieves an efficiency of 98% at 18 microns
holds up to 29 grams of contaminants
Holds 1.5 quarts of oil
Rated at 20 microns absolute
Dust holding capacity of 29 grams
100% microglass media
Silicone anti-drain back valve
Anyone have a source for the bypass PSI?
did some googling...looks like the filter will by pass at 20 PSI of back pressure.
If the Motorcraft filter is 98% at 18 microns and the Donaldson is 15 microns, I don't see a compelling reason to switch.
Good point. I have the bypass filter on mine. I'm sure they could find another reason besides the primary filter. Then add my FilterMags I have on the primary...Then if I add the AFE DFS 780, yet another reason.

Me either.

Thanks. I was looking but obviously not hard enough.
Just FYI, the black OE filter that comes on the truck from the factory is made by Champion Labs who make Bosch, Mobil 1, and others. The white Motorcraft filter that many run after the first oil change is made by Purolator.

Thanks Rod.
In my FilterMag thread that is now buried, which may come back to life or not, I got into an argument with a guy here who claimed that the black filter I cut open to show the inside of with the Filter mags on was not really a Ford filter, how did he know it was the original, BLAH blah blah... Thanks for clearing that up and providing further proof that the engines come from the factory with the black filter. Have a good night...
I always wondered about why Dave. My only guess is that having two different colored filters tells the dealer if you've done your initial oil change. They used to do the same with the engine bay fuel filters when the 6.7 first came out. There was an extra unused port on the factory installed one that wasn't on the Motorcraft until sold after the sale. I've also found that the Motorcraft batteries that come from the factory are different than the Motorcraft units sold at dealers. Same part number. Different batteries. So, perhaps it has nothing to do with my guess.

I remember that -- the first time I changed the fuel filters -- the secondary filter had that 3rd port. Speaking of that, don't the 17s and up have the 3 port secondary filters? Thought I saw that somewhere.

That's correct. Three ports on the engine compartment fuel filter for 2017+.
