Which tuner?

Hey guys I have a new to me 11 f250. The def had been deleted with a mild flash tune. I ordered a egr delete kit with the plates to block off. Now I am guessing I'll need another tune correct? The truck is just an xl so I would like to have a screen to monitor temps. Which one would u guys recommend that's not too expensive?

You should not need a new tune. Normally delete tunes turn off the egr. The egr can be turned off and still be intact. Check and see if any connectors are unplugged on the egr cooler.

Try unplugging one of them like egr valve or coolant temp sensor right on top of egr cooler. If no codes become active then the egr is disabled. You can even go as far as unplugging the throttle valve, that one normally gets disabled with a delete tune. I deleted my truck and drove it with all sensors on egr plugged in with no issues. Then i removed the entire cooler and unplugged all sensors.

Great news. When I went to unplug the butterfly sensor I saw some plates in between the stock pipes. I am all set it seems. Would u guys still bypass the coolant lines?

Thats good, you already have a egr delete tune. I would still source some block off plates and install them. I believe those are the gaskets in the pictures, not block off plates. I bought mine on ebay for about 100 bucks with the hoses and coolant bypass plates.

Your right they are gaskets. I got excited for a hot minute. I did buy the kit but am very worried about breaking the bolts off. One video I saw instead of drilling out the current holes. He just tapped new holes next to the current ones. Whatcha guys think is the best approach? Just make new ones? Or try and drill out the bolt or bolts everyone breaks off? Or just leave it since the tune has the butterfly closed and just bypass the cooling lines with the new line in the kit?

You might have some luck if you spray them down with some penetrating oil spray. I sprayed the two bolts down every day for about a week. After letting the truck cool down for an hour or so. When i broke them loose they came right out with no issues. Another thing you can try is before you break them loose, grab a 8mm socket with an extension and a hammer. Hit the extension a few times on each bolt. That will help them break loose as well.
