Starter not engaging

So I have replaced my original starter with one from a super duty. I am running the carquest remanufactured starter with lifetime warranty. This is the second starter that just spins and won’t engage the flywheel to start the engine. Is there something up with my truck causing the starter to go bad or are these starters just junk? What starter can I buy that I won’t have to replace every 6 months. The current one has less that 6,000 miles on it.

I have quit buying remaned starters, went to new ones. It seems no one takes any pride in their rebuilt parts any more.

Well I got advance to do a warranty exchange for the new nippondenso starter and I just have to pay the difference which is about $48.

Check the fly wheel for missing teeth? Probably just the starter but I would take a look.

Hopefully that will work better for you. I agree that reman stuff doesn’t have quality anymore. The only exception is if you still have someone local who can rebuild it.
