My guess? Straight cab 1000lbs...crew cab 1500?

Do NOT attempt to lift the cab using a tree branch.

Don't think a cab lift is necessary for engine swap. @SkySkiJason been down this road numerous times.

Upgrade to all late 99. Uppies, pedestal, etc.

I would never ever remove cab for engine swap. I’ve pulled these engines in as little as 2hrs.

I dont even remove the header panel, grill, bumper or AC condenser.

I have a 7.3 engine pull write up on here somewhere from a long time ago. There are better ones than mine too (more pics/details).

Heres a time lapse of a 2hr engine pull. At the last minute I had to remove the header panel because I nosed truck in the garage and was under the garage door - could not raise the hoist high enough....

You ‘will’ need to raise the front of cab a few inches to install engine in a ZF6 truck.

Leave AC compressor and PS pump and bracket in the truck. Save the time/$$$$ of having to recharge and refill those systems.

I've done a couple of these and pulling the cab would be a pain...not to mention only adding time to getting the engine out...and I do these with a big 5k Sky Trak or Lull forklift. Pull the turbo and it will come out without having to remove the front end components. I also unbolt the A/C compressor and power steering pump and lay them to the side in the engine compartment...and if you choose to remove the front end components you can just unbolt and lay the A/C condenser to the side. Because of the forklifts I utilize, I also mark and remove the hood...could probably do it with the hood intact, but when doing it by myself it makes more sense to just get it out of the way.
