Does anybody know if there is a good chasis dyno around the Warrensburg/Sedalia area? It needs to be within reasonable driving distance. Kansas City isn't too far but about the limit.
I know this is far for you, but in the future at Gateway International Raceway and on Tuesday (test and tune), there is a dyno and I think it's use comes with the $15 fee for racing. On this day, there are really no rules to speak of, just regular safety stuff and it's usually when all the kids (High School) come out and race.
This is a complete racing chassis dyno machine in the back of a trailor. Just a thought. Doc.
There is a dyno at MC Racing here in Kansas City, on the Kansas side down in Merriam. They are good folks down there and would be worth the drive in. I hope this helps.
MC Racing is just in Merriam off of Merriam Lane and Antioch Rd, it is supposed to be in the same small shop area as two other shops - being Klassen Automotive, and Dan's Auto repair.
Their hours Mon-Fri are 10am - 6pm, Saturday is 10am - 2:30pm.
Not open on Sunday though
Ha Ratsmoker, thats funny that you say : If you get a chance to get out that way
MC Racing is probably less than a mile away from both Torque1st and I, didn't even realize it. Its REALLY close to him though, when our old Dodge Spirit used to break down, we took it to Klassen automotive all the time because it was the closest place with reasonable prices
I'm about an hour and a half away. I need to get an old F-250 and a trailer before I head over there. I don't like the idea of driving it the whole way out there. Eric might not like my old truck setting in his driveway after something goes south on the dyno. It will probably be late february before I get a chance to get out there.
Race parts within walking distance? Sounds dangerous to me man!
...for someone like me who knows nothing, but want 2000 hp, that would be a total disaster. I agree with race parts and close proximity being taboo for me. Hell, I am thinking about find some turbos and trying that out (and don't even have the truck running right yet). It's all Ratsmoker's fault!!! I got the bug now buddy!
I just called them and they have a dyno jet chasis dyno. They said to make 2 runs it costs $55. To rent the dyno for an hour it runs $115 and to have the A/F mixture read it is $30. So for $145 I can make full runs for an hour. They said they would let me do any tuning I wanted on the spot. Maybe if you get a chance Eric we can meet up there in a few months and we can put our heads together!
