Turbos

Will a turbo off a 99 and up PSD work on my 96 and if so will it give me more boost?

The 99 and newer turbos are wastegated, yours is not.

The 99 turbo has a much smaller wastegated housing which will give you more boost in low RPM's but when you start adding more fuel the housing becomes too small and you will get high backpressure and higher EGT's. I also think the newer trucks have a different turbo mount pedistall. Not worth it for the work involved.

What do you have to do to get the new ats ballbearing turbo to work on the early powerstrokes?
