3in Downpipe install

What is involved in the 3in downpipe install on a 96 stroke? Do I have to mangle the firewall? Anything helps thanks.

i have heard that you have to get into the firewall but there is a 2 peice downpipe for you model of truck that way you dont have to. i ordered a 4 inch downpipe for mine yesterday and he said it was fairly easy to install. around an hour to complete

On a 96 you will need to cut the heat sheld and seam bend the seam over to make the 2 pipes fit.

You will probably need to bend a seam that is on the firewall. I just did this last weekend. It is not nearly as easy as it sounds. It took an awful lot of elbow grease and finding a way to get some good leverage on it to bend it. It is definately doable, just take your time figuring out how you are going to bend it, and be careful what you pry against.
I think it is worth the work. I love the way my truck sounds now, and it seems to have a little more power. Thats just seat of the pants feel.
