Fan Clutch Issue????
I have a 05 Excursion with the 6.0 and think i'm having an issue with the fan clutch.... normal mountain highway driving with temps in the 90's i'm seeing ECT and EOT around 215 to 225 i'm seeing fan rpms in the 450 range... the fan clutch doesn't fully engage (2600 ish RPM range) until I get into the 230 degree range and then drops off quickly back to the 450 range once temps fall below 220... and when I come to a stop the fan is going maybe 200 to 300 RPM and the temps will hit 230 degrees again. This is all with the A/C on which starts to blow hot air at any stop.
I have only seen info on testing for the fan clutch to fully engage and not to test the sporadic engagement.
Any info would be much appreciated
