dome light

The dome light in my '69 f100 will not go off.............even with the

doors shut...is it because of the colder weather?

I've tried the switches over and over again......is it just the switch?

Now when youve tried the switches, manually with the door open does the light go off? If so, your switch needs adjusted, simple box end wrench will do.
Now if it stays on. Either a bad switch or bad ground. If you can get to the switch wires check them out for corrisoin or loose fitting connections.

Check your 2 door switches or Your Dimmer switch on your Light switch broke. Those are the 3 things that turn on your dome light.

Yeah, I would think the light switch. What switches have you been trying?

I would say the light switch itself. Most of the time when the door jam switches go bad the light will not come on at all.

I have only tried the door switches.......i have also taken the domelight itself out ..........

I know that the door switch is just a ground itself, but when i took the dome light itself out..every time i would touch the bezel to the sheetmetal that the bezel fits in....the light would be on.....

I'll to try the interior dash light switch.......maybe that will turn the domelight off.........so that i'm not being blinded when i drive at night

Hi Skip, the lights switch on the dash does turn the dome light off and on. Rotating the **** fully counter-clockwise engages the switch to turn it on all the time, you'll feel it click. Turn it back to switch it off and only the door switches can turn it back on again.
