I want to first say I just got this 2010 Ford F150 Lariat 4 Door Super Crew 5.4 8 cylinder Truck. I found that the Cruise Control does not seem to work (nor does the indicator light up on dash when I push the Cruise Button), nor does the rearview camera seem to work (Just gives a small blue box on rear view mirror).
(Wire in question is a black wire that is joined with a green wire under hood see images)
With all that said I found a wire evidently a privious owner had ran from the front inside the Hood to the rear of the truck back by the camera and towing wiring harnesses. They ran wire along side the main harness on the under side of the driver side that goes to the inside of the hood for a main connection of the rear electronics. I'm trying to figure out what they were doing with it. Where it ends in the rear it seems to be cut ✂️. See images. Let me know if you have any clue
was the wire cut off of that electrical plug and then pulled back 2 inches and connected to the NEW WIRE ? Could be that they traced down a bad harness from that plug to the rear bumper and decided to replace the bad wire with a single unit... maybe they lost power to the rear camera ?
