Hey guys. I am getting to the point where I will be primering and painting my chassis. I'm using enamels. What type of spray gun would be best? I will be using enamels for the body as well. Thank you in advance, Todd.
When you say "enamels" is this auto enamel or hardware store enamel?
Also do you have the guns all ready or you need to buy them?
What air compressor do you have as both types of guns (see below) I think use the same amount of air .... a lot!
The HVLP guns dont have as much over spray but cant prove that looking in my garage LOL
I have 2 old school suction cup guns and when I did my frame with hardware store enamel & hardener I used 1 of them as it was easier to get to and clean up than my HVLP guns.
For painting I have 3 different HVLP guns, Start Line kit I got thru East wood.1-large head paint gun, 1 small head paint gun, 1 large head primer gun.
I can use the large De-cups kit with bladder for easy clean up on all 3 but have yet to use the primer gun.
When I did my truck I used 1 of the suction type guns for primer, just easier for me to fill when I was priming being old school.
But for painting I used the small head gun for painting the inside and door jambs and used the large head for the outside.
