This one I didn't see coming. New egr attempt. 100 degrees today and couldn't seat still knowing I'm so close to finely being able to fine tune my f100 302. After sweating my a off for a good hour I realized it wasn't going to work.
Problem is my new egr mounting bolt holes are 2 7/8 to center and my old is 3 1/4 to center. I haven't seen any reference to bolt layout on any other egrs or spacer plates. Anyone else come across this? Been looking at other posts and can't find my situation anywhere. Starting to feel real special. Haha. Any help greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time. I ordered a EGV201 from rockauto and it's a replacement for my OE egr. You really can't tell that there's a difference in size. Its my fault for not checking and even putting them side by side. My concern at the time was the orifice size and center punching the edges. My plan was to remove the old and install the new without leaving the engine compartment. So much for plans. I'm definitely missing something thats not part of my spacer plate. Thanks again.
I'm sure there's no cheap fix, so I'll put the old one back and chalk this up for a reminder that I'm no Einstein. My concern with the old was it wouldn't hold vacuum. Designed that way. Engine running 5 lbs was all it would take and bleed off. With no oxygen sensor it doesn't seem right. So I'll see if I can pass smog and go from there.
