Battery light on

I have a 2011 f150 with the 5 liter motor. Battery light came on about 3 weeks ago and nothing has happened so I had it ran on a scanner today. The code is P0625. The battery shows 12.8 volts when vehicle is off. Generator shows output while running is at 14.2 volts. What could possibly be the culprit causing the code to be active? Ground wires look good. Even disconnected the sensor loop that is on the ground cable at the battery and that didn't change readings on scanner nor did it pop up a new code. Does that mean anything? Any help or ideas appreciated.

9 times out of 10, when that light comes on , the alternator is not putting out.. The P0625 code says the alternator field voltage is low... Can you clear the code and it goes away or does it stay constantly ?

Even tho the alternator appears to be putting out voltage, i would guess that is a SOMETIMES reading... How old is the alternator ? How many miles ? An AVERAGE alternator life is about 150K miles....... Some sooner, some longer... Im guessing its time to think about a new alternator.

The alternator is original and the truck is at 99500. The light comes on within seconds of starting the vehicle. We ran the scan and test on voltage several times and it reads 14.2 volts out of the alternator and the battery is constantly at 12.8 volt.

Did you check it with the headlights and AC running or just the truck. Ac comes on on and it steals a lot of juice and drops the RPM down at the same time.

I've read through many many posts today about the Fuel Pump fuse #27 issues. Mine 20a fuse burned up about a year ago. My truck would not start. It would just turn over but not start. I found through research it could be the #27 fuse. I replaced the fuse. Everything seemed good.

Sometime later, after replacing the fuse, my Battery light has started coming on every time I start my truck. Does anyone know if the in the TSB - 15-0137, if the MIL (malfunction indicating light) mentioned in the TSB could be my battery light?

After replacing the 20amp slot #27 fuse, I have not had any starting issues with the truck.

2012 F150 XLT. 3.6/V6.

Thanks everyone,
